The Great Lakes African American Writers Conference (GLAAWC) presents Tuesdays with Toni: A Conversation on Toni Morrison, a six-part virtual series led by Dr. Leah Lewis and Dr. Marilyn Mobley exploring Morrison’s work through her speeches and interviews. Beginning May 19, 2026, and continuing through February 16, 2027, sessions will be held from 7:00 to 7:30 PM Eastern Time.
Each gathering creates space for reflection, conversation, and deeper understanding of Morrison’s voice in her own words. Featured sessions include her Nobel Lecture (1993), “The Classic” (1978), discussions on The Bluest Eye and Paradise (1998), a conversation with Peter Florence on Beloved (2014), reflections on A Mercy (2008), and “Goodness: Altruism and the Literary Imagination” (2012). Participants will receive session materials and access details in advance, and recordings will be available following each session.
