The Charles F. Kettering Foundation and Dayton Metro Library will partner with THE NEON for a screening of Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am on August 12, 2026, from 6:30–9:00 PM at THE NEON (130 E. Fifth Street, Dayton).
Following the documentary screening, Dr. ShaDawn Battle, Assistant Professor in the Gender and Diversity Studies Department at Xavier University, will lead a conversation exploring the alignment of Morrison’s work with the principles of inclusive democracy.
Tickets are $5 and will be available in late June. A limited number of free tickets will also be offered. This in-person event is open to adult audiences and is part of the statewide Beloved: Ohio Celebrates Toni Morrison initiative.
