Experience Toni Morrison’s Song of Solomon through movement, sound, and visual art. Dancer and choreographer Candice Flows and visual artist Marjaneh Abbasi will lead participants through an experiential workshop inspired by Morrison’s life, thought, and creative work.
Through breath work, embodied movement, curated sounds, and improvisation, participants will explore the ideas and imagery of Song of Solomon before creating a multimedia project of their own. No particular artistic background is required to participate.
The workshop takes place October 11 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center, 139 W. Main St. in Columbus. Sponsored by The Ohio State University and the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center, the event is free and open to the public.
