On Friday, February 20, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, The City Club of Cleveland will host On Morrison: A Conversation About Toni Morrison with Author Namwali Serpell as part of the statewide Beloved: Ohio Celebrates Toni Morrison initiative. Doors open at 11:15 AM, lunch will be served at 11:30 AM, and the forum conversation will begin promptly at 12:00 PM.
This hybrid event features award-winning author and Harvard professor Namwali Serpell discussing her book On Morrison, which examines Toni Morrison’s literary artistry, technique, and lasting influence on American literature. The conversation, moderated by Kourtney Morrow of the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards, will explore how Morrison reshaped not only what stories were told, but how they were told.
The program will take place in person at The City Club of Cleveland and will be livestreamed beginning at 12:00 PM. A book signing will follow the forum, with books available for purchase on site.
