Zygote Press presents Exhibition Opening Reception for “A Clearing: Word, Image, Body” on September 10, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at 3907 Perkins Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. Featuring artists Tatyana Atkinson, Marcus Morris, Euzhan Shabazz, Benjamin Smith, and solo, the exhibition explores identity, memory, ancestry, Black selfhood and autonomy, liberation from societal norms, beauty, and experiences of sexual violence and trauma. The work draws particular connections to Toni Morrison’s Beloved and Jazz, while also engaging themes found across her broader body of work. The opening reception is free and open to adults, with advance RSVP required.
