Join Cuyahoga Community College for Crafting Verse: Responding to the Poetry of Toni Morrison, a creative workshop and poetry reading centered on Morrison’s poetic work.
This mini-maker’s workshop explores how Toni Morrison’s poetry distills the depth of her prose into vivid, layered imagery shaped by personal, political, and spiritual histories. Volunteers will read aloud a selection of Morrison’s poems, and participants are invited to respond through creative expression.
Attendees will have the opportunity to create collage, drawings, blackout poetry, and original written pieces inspired by the readings, with time to share their work in a collaborative setting. Basic crafting supplies will be provided.
