As you may already know, legendary author Toni Morrison is from our neck of the woods — she was born in Lorain, Ohio! In celebration of this literary master and her roots in our own backyard, Loganberry Books (in coordination with Literary Cleveland) has created a mural project to honor her legacy.
Talented local muralist DAYZWHUN has laid out a Toni Morrison themed, 9’ square mural and started painting it. The not-yet-painted areas of the mural are divided into equally sized sections, each of which will be painted by another local Black artist (in honor of Morrison’s deep roots in Black culture).
The painting artists are: Derin Fletcher, Jerome White, Jurnee Ta-Zion, and Zakiya Erby.
