Join the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center and the Rust Belt Humanities Lab for Analytic Flicks: Beloved, a film discussion exploring the cinematic adaptation of Toni Morrison’s Pulitzer Prize–winning novel.
During this program, Vera Camden, Emerita Professor of English at Kent State University and Supervising and Training Analyst at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center, will discuss the film adaptation of Beloved from a psychoanalytic perspective. The conversation will examine the film’s themes of memory, trauma, and identity through the lens of psychoanalytic interpretation.
