Join Women in History and Elyria Public Library’s Central Branch on June 17, 2026, from 6:00–7:00 PM for An Evening with Toni Morrison.
This live production journeys through Morrison’s life from her childhood in Lorain, Ohio, to her groundbreaking career as the first Black woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. The program explores Morrison’s fierce commitment to truth-telling, her examination of memory and trauma, and her unwavering insistence that Black life, Black language, and Black imagination matter.
The event will take place at Elyria Public Library (211 Second Street, Elyria) and is part of the statewide Beloved: Ohio Celebrates Toni Morrison initiative.
